It’s time to get festive! When fall is in the air, one of my favorite things to do is to bring that fresh autumn feeling inside my home. And the best part is, we can do this 100% naturally! I’ll be sharing with you my favorite non-toxic fall air freshener recipes that will get your home smelling festive and fun!spray-bottles

Whether you need to create a joyful and happy atmosphere in the home or you’re wanting to cozy up with a cup of tea, one of these 3 DIY recipes will be perfect for you to try. And they are SUPER easy to make because all you need is a small spritzer bottle, spring water, and essential oils.

Uplifting Home Refresher

Use this air freshener to infuse joy and happiness into your home.

Bergamot: Bergamot is an oil from the peel of the fruit, and it’s uplifting, an antidepressant, and increases vitality.

Jasmine: Jasmine, like rose, relieves stress! And it smells divine. 

Autumn Cleansing Vibes Spray

Use this recipe to freshen the air with aromatherapy. This combo of oils provides not only freshness but also antimicrobial, antiviral, and antibacterial properties.

Thyme: Sticking with the theme of cleansing the air, Thyme essential oil has antibacterial properties which makes it the perfect addition to this blend.

Grapefruit: Grapefruit works as a mood balancer so it’s the perfect oils to add to this blend cleansing the mind just as much as the air.

Lemon: Similar to orange, lemon is a mood booster and a stress reducer while also providing a fresh clean smell to the air. 

Cozy Fall Comfort Spray

This recipe evokes a feeling of serenity and calm. Perfect for winding down and cozying up at the end of the day.

cinnamon-sticksClove: Clove bud provides respiratory relief for asthma and cough. It also works as an anti antimicrobial and pain reliever while possessing anti-cancer properties.

Cinnamon: This oil works as an antibacterial, anti-fungal, and mood enhancer. And what better fragrance is there to bring all of the festive vibes?

Rosemary: Rosemary has a strong scent that can quickly overpower a blend. For this reason, use half as much rosemary oil as you do your other oils. Rosemary is best known for its ability to clear foggy thinking and helping you to stay alert.

Directions

  • Fill a 4 oz spray bottle with spring water
  • Add in (5) drops of each essential oil 
  • Shake and spray in all rooms around the house. Also works well as a linen spray for pillows, sheets, furniture, tablecloths etc.
  • If you love the scent you can also use as a perfume, spraying on your collarbone, neck, wrist, inside of the elbow and clothes – but be careful to not spray in your eyes.
