Maybe it’s not the favorite household chore, but we can change that by bringing freshness into your laundry room. And the best part…it’s toxic-free!
Do you know those commercials that have that smiling woman taking in that deep breath of fresh laundry? It makes me cringe. Sure, it’s nice having newly clean clothes that smell fresh, but so many laundry detergents at your local store are full of harmful chemicals that you are not only breathing in but wearing on your skin all day long!
Here are two great recipes for you to “makeover” your laundry room:
DIY Laundry Detergent
- 3 cups natural washing soda
- 10 drops of lemon or lavender essential oil
- 1 cup of baking soda
Mix together all ingredients into a reusable jar and use a tablespoon to scoop detergent into the washer. I like to put an extra couple of drops of essential oil right into the rinse water as well. Not only is this toxic-free…it will save you so much money!
DIY Fresh Mint Freshener
- 250ml plain water
- 15 drops Rosemary oil
- 15 drops Peppermint oil
Mix together well in a spray bottle. If you hang out your washing, spritz a light spray of the mixture when the laundry is almost dry. If you use a dryer, spritz the laundry just before putting it in.
I hope you enjoy bringing freshness into your laundry room as much as I have!
