When we think about living a non-toxic lifestyle, we must think about our homes. Because we spend so much time in our homes, sleeping, eating, and cleaning, it’s important for us to create a non-toxic environment. One of the fastest (and most money-saving) ways we can begin living a healthier lifestyle is by swapping out our home cleaners.

The traditional cleaners that we use in our homes are packed with harmful ingredients that not only our skin comes in contact with, but we also breathe in the toxic fumes.  The average household contains 62 toxic ingredients! We have to change that.  I’m going to share with you an All-Purpose Nontoxic Cleaning Disinfectant using one of our most potent resources – essential oils.

All essential oils have some kind of anti-bacterial properties and so can be incorporated into your home-cleaning routine. Studies show that eucalyptus oil, for example, is as powerful an anti-bacterial agent as many common cleaning chemicals, without the negative side-effects.

All-Purpose Nontoxic Cleaning Disinfectant

  • 15 drops of Peppermint oil
  • 15 drops of Eucalyptus oil
  • 15 drops of Clove oil
  • 15 drops of Sage oil
  • 15 drops of Thyme oil

Mix this into your rinse water when wiping down your counters or cleaning the floors. If you have an ant problem, this is especially effective because ants cannot stand the smell of mint.

I know that swapping out all of the cleaners in your home can feel difficult. But that’s why creating ONE great toxic-free cleaner will be your first simple step. Use this DIY cleaner in all the rooms in your home! Not only is it great for your house, but it’s good for your health too!
